to install this under *ubuntuish distros: Requires GTK3+ >3.20

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3-staging
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
sudo apt-get update

have the following packages installed libjson-glib-dev libgtk-3-dev libgstreamer1.0-dev libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-dev libgphoto2-dev libcurl4-gnutls-dev libcanberra-gtk3-dev libgtk-3-dev
